Last Saturday Nick and I had our first walk through with Amber and Nathaniel (our wedding coordinator and caterer, respectively). It was nice to be able to go around and discuss the set up and really start to visualize the wedding day itself. There are always so many little things we didn't think about (small lounges around the fireplace? white vs. black vs. natural wood chairs during the ceremony and reception? where do you want the cake to go?) Amber and Nathaniel are so great. They are really helpful and have great suggestions (but never overly impose their opinion). Since the two of them have worked at the site before, they can let us know what works and point out things to consider.
My mom and stepdad were out to visit and it's looking like Paul will be building a Chuppah for us...it should be an interesting project. I think my mom will be working on a piece to drape at the top. Apparently there is a website called do-it-yourself-wedding.com, which is kind of funny to me. Whatever works.
Just a thought that's been bounced around...canine participation in wedding? It may be a job best saved for Teddy.
I'm starting to wonder when weddings turned into such a big event of lots of little things...society may have some explaining to do.
